Warehouse design and layout
A poorly laid-out warehouse forces extra walking, double handling of goods and improvised space every peak season. We design the layout from your order, inventory and receiving data so the building works for the operation.

Signs you need it
- Pickers walk long distances to reach your best-selling products.
- Receiving and shipping share dock doors and block each other at peak hours.
- Goods sit on the floor or in aisles because there are no free locations.
- You are opening a new warehouse, expanding or relocating and need to know how much space and which racking you require.
- Nobody can explain why each product is where it is.
What you get
- Layout drawing with zones, flows and racking positions
- Slotting plan: which product goes in which location and why
- Storage and dock capacity calculation
- Location naming scheme ready for the WMS
- List of required equipment and racking
- Phased transition plan
How we work
- 01
Site survey
We visit the warehouse, measure the building, review docks, racking and equipment, and collect the history of orders, receipts and inventory.
- 02
Data analysis
We classify products by velocity, volume and handling type, and calculate the storage and throughput capacity the operation needs.
- 03
Design
We propose zones, flows, racking types, aisle widths and product placement, with alternatives compared on space, travel and investment.
- 04
Implementation plan
We set the order of changes so the operation does not stop, the location naming scheme, and support during the relocation.
Frequently asked questions
Do you work with operating warehouses or only new projects?
Both. In an operating warehouse the transition plan is phased so you can keep shipping while goods are relocated.
What information do you need to start?
The building plan, the item master with dimensions, and the history of orders and receipts. If any data is missing, we collect it during the site visit.
Does the design depend on a specific WMS?
No. The layout works with any system. If you also implement logisticaHQ, the location naming and slotting are loaded straight into it.
